The “GBH-RSMA-GRETA CFA Career Springboard” programme for motor-vehicle-mechanic professions is established in Guadeloupe
for solidarity
This scheme sets out to recruit and train 12 participants with no prior motor-vehicle qualifications, so that they can obtain a vocational diploma qualifying them as a motor-vehicle electromechanical technician (a "BAC Pro" qualification, equivalent to a Level 4 diploma in the European Qualifications Framework). After 17 months of continuous learning within the Adapted Military Service Regiment (RSMA), followed by a work-study course at a public education college (GRETA-CFA) and GBH’s motor-vehicle subsidiaries, participants who successfully complete the programme will get a permanent job at one of these subsidiaries in Guadeloupe.
The RSMA, the GRETA-CFA training centre in Guadeloupe and GBH are establishing the “GBH-RSMA-GRETA CFA Career Springboard” programme (known as the "Tremplin Pour l’Emploi GBH-RSMA-GRETA-CFA" locally). This initiative demonstrates the shared determination of partners to take action to help to get young Guadeloupeans who are struggling to find a job into work. France Travail (the French government agency responsible for supporting job seekers and employers), Missions Locales and GBH subsidiaries are building this innovative scheme in order to train these young people in mechanics professions, against a backdrop of major technological developments and high youth unemployment. The partners are joining forces by signing a partnership charter.
The “GBH-RSMA-GRETA CFA Career Springboard” programme addresses recruitment needs in motor-vehicle professions, against a backdrop of major technological developments and high youth unemployment.
This programme, which was created by GBH and is overseen by all partners, brings together the work undertaken by the Group to improve training in each territory in order to help to get groups struggling to find a job into work. This scheme sets out to help participants to acquire skills through training, obtain a diploma if they successfully complete the programme and get a permanent job at GBH, and to involve vocational-training and employability local partners.
"In Guadeloupe, there are significant recruitment needs in the motor-vehicle sector, which is experiencing major technological changes. We rely on the know-how of our partners. Training and support are provided by globally renowned motor-vehicle professionals, in modern workshops. This scheme has been launched by GBH, the Ecole de la Deuxième Chance (Second Chance School), France Travail and partners in other territories. Thanks to the scheme, 11 young people from Martinique and 13 young people from Réunion Island have already got jobs in the motor-vehicle sector, as well as 15 young people in Réunion Island and 20 in French Guiana in mass-retail professions", explained Pascal Chavignat, GBH HR Director.
